Now that you’ve done your research on what a ceramic coating is and understand it, the next logical question to ask is…….”Is a Ceramic Coating right for me?” Generally speaking, most people will benefit from having their vehicle ceramic coated. Here are a few instances where a ceramic coating may not be right for you:
1. I frequently use drive-thru car washes.
– Generally speaking, we do not recommend using drive-thru washes at all. But it’s understandable that sometimes, they are just necessary. However; if you frequent drive-thru washes, especially brush ones, we would not recommend a ceramic coating. If you use touch-less washes only, it may still be something to consider.
2. I don’t plan to wash my car regularly or properly.
– Even though a ceramic coating provides superior protection to the elements, it does require proper washing and drying to get the return on your investment. Remember, a ceramic coating is designed to make life easier, but it is critical to still maintain your vehicles finish whether it is ceramic coated or not. Improper wash technique can and will scratch your finish.
3. It’s a lease.
– If you are leasing a car and do not plan to buy it, a ceramic coating may not be right for you. If you plan to care for your lease and still want it to be easy to maintain, there are short-term coatings available to fit your need.
4. I like to wax or seal my own car.
– Love applying a wax or sealant to your ride? Love polishing it? If you truly enjoy that quality time with your ride, a ceramic coating may not be for you.
The truth is…….a ceramic coating is not the right fit for everyone. And that’s perfectly ok. A ceramic coating is definitely an investment. But like other investments, it does require some care to get a return on that investment.
